The Cuillin Mountains on the Isle of Skye provide some of the most challenging hiking, scrambling and climbing routes in the UK. West Coast Mountain Guides in Scotland will let you test and improve your mountaineering skills on the Black Cuillin.
Whether you want to climb the Inaccessible Pinnacle in a day, spend 2 days on a full Cuillin Ridge Traverse or can commit to 4 days bagging 11 Munros, we have the mountain adventure for you.
All our Association Of Mountaineering Instructors approved guides have extensive knowledge of the Black Cuillin, ensuring that whichever mountain hiking experience you choose you’ll emerge from the experience more confident and skilled.
Awards held by our guides include Winter Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor (WMCI) (the UK’s highest instructional award), Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor (MCI), Rock Climbing Instructor (RCI) and International Mountain Leader (IML).
We offer a range of experiences and courses across the Skye Cuillins; from 1 day climbing the Inaccessible Pinnacle, though a 2 day Cuillin Ridge Traverse, or you can really get Munro Bagging with a 4 day ascent of 11 Munros.

The Cuillin range is two different mountain ranges; the Black Cuillins and Red Cuillins.
The Black Cuillins is comprised mainly of gabbro and basalt, and is the more dramatic looking. Gabbro is a rough rock offering very good grip, but basalt can be slippery when wet. Formed from granite, the Red Cuillins have fewer climbs and scrambles, with a reddish tone in places giving the range its name.
Munros are Scottish mountains with a height over 3,000 ft, approximately 915 metres. The Black Cuillins are home to 11 of the 12 Skye Cuillin Munros.
Bagging a Munro, basically climbing one, is a key ambition for hikers and climbers. Bagging the Munros refers to scaling the peak of all 12.

Guided Up the Inaccessible Pinnacle - Total Success As an experienced hill walker, and Munro walker, but not a climber, I thought that the Inn Pinn was out with my abilities.
