    Introductory Winter Climbing Course Scotland

UK Courses

West Coast Mountain Guides are based beneath Ben Nevis, in the town of Fort William, where most of our courses are run from.  There are great transport links from both Glasgow and Inverness.  The mountains of Glencoe, Creag Meagaidh, the Southern Highlands and Glen Shiel are all within easy reach and are regularly visited during the duration of a mountaineering course.  We are also lucky to have quick access to the gondola at Nevis Range, which whisks us up Aonach Mor, to 650m, allowing for greater time up in the snow and ice, or a slightly shorter day.

Throughout the spring, summer, and early autumn we also run courses on the Black Cuillins, on the Isle of Skye, which again, has good transport links with major towns and cities in Scotland.  The small settlements of Slighachan, Glenbrittle and Carbost are ideal bases for courses on Skye.  Broadford and Portree are great for shops and sightseeing.
